Click REPLY below and type a brief summary of the content of the video.
A. Is the Cardiac Chain of Survival the same or different for Adult as it is for a
Child/Infant?
B. What are there similarities and differences if any?
Be sure your summary is at least 5 sentences long. After you make your post, read the

A heart attack occurs when the blood flow to part of the heart muscle is blocked. The
fight against cardiac arrest is a chain each link is a struggle for survival.
The primary link in the Adult cardiac chain of survival is: Call 9-1-1 and activation EMS
system.
2. Early CPR- CPR helped circulates oxygen to the brain, disinfects drain injury, performs
cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.
3. Early defibrillation- this link electrical shock using restore an effective heart rhythm
(AED).
4. Early advanced life support- medical personnel assistance on site und on the way to
transportation.
5. Integrated post-cardiac arrest care - last link resuscitation minimize further
complications.
Pediatric cardiac chain of survival is slightly different from adult. Often common
pediatric trauma ( drowning, choking, electrocution) occurs as the result.
1.Prevention - as the first link.
2.Pediatric cardiac arrest not used electrocuted.

Hello class,
A. The cardiac chain of survival for adults is slightly different from what it is for a child or
infant. Quick action is essential when someone is experiencing cardiac arrest. It should
be noted that in the US, cardiac arrests happen most frequently outside of hospitals.
B. The adult cardiac chain of survival consists of the recognition of cardiac arrest and the
activation of the emergency medical service system; calling 911, early CPR, early
defibrillation, early advanced life support, and integrated post-cardiac arrest care.
Children's cardiac arrest frequently results from an accident that could have been
avoided, such as trauma, drowning, choking, or electrocution. Accordingly, the first step
in the pediatric cardiac survival chain is prevention. The second link is beginning CPR
right away, and the third link is turning on the EMS system. The fourth and fifth links in
the cardiac survival chain are integrated post-cardiac arrest care and early advanced life
support, just like in the adult cardiac survival chain. Many lives, including those of adults
and children, can be saved if the first three links of the cardiac chain of survival are
completed.
