Co-teaching is how teachers work together to help achieve several goals in a learning institution. In such that the candidate teacher works in cooperation with the cooperating teacher. However, three models are beneficial to the elementary school level. The three include team teaching, parallel teaching, and station teaching. These models ensure a well-defined structure and benefit to elementary students.
Team teaching involves teachers who teach at the front and move around the classroom to check with the students (Gurgur, Hasan, and Uzuner, 590). It is essential for the team teaching model to the elementary school since they require more attention and involvement of teachers as it benefits students for the benefit of learning content and skills using multiple strategies. Due to such advantages, elementary students need to interact with the model. One of the needs to employ this model is to limit the team size and create a true team.
Parallel teaching is the other teaching model that seems to work effectively for elementary school (Marilyn, 20). This model involves dividing the class into two groups, and each group is taught the same content but by different teachers. This kind of teaching is a choice for young students learning new and challenging content. Where the student benefits from learning from a small group, it needs the teacher to understand students' capabilities.
Lastly, the other co-teaching model is station teaching. The class is divided into several stations, and the student walks through the different stations learning from the various teachers ((Gurgur, Hasan, and Uzuner, 605). Beneficial whenever other teachers vary in-depth understanding of knowledge. Essential in teaching elementary school as they benefit from different information and additional experience knowledge. For the method to be employed, essentially, it requires several resources to fit all the students equally.
