Overview
Congratula�ons! The board of directors agreed to the sale of the organiza�on. However, you have just been no�fied that the
primary buyer has withdrawn from the sale. A�er much nego�a�on, the alterna�ve buyer you iden�fied has acquired the life
sciences organiza�on instead.
It has now been three months since the comple�on of the acquisi�on process. The post-acquisi�on integra�on and ac�vi�es are
also now complete. In these three months, 5% of the original workforce le� to join a different organiza�on. The data from the
updated employee survey also show that some employees are s�ll worried about their posi�on in the organiza�on. However, on the
financial side, a�er some dips in the beginning, the quarterly sales numbers and revenue have stabilized and show minimal impact.
It’s now �me to complete an a�er-ac�on review for the organiza�on. This review will help the organiza�on’s leaders evaluate how
they managed change during the acquisi�on and how they will apply the lessons learned in the future.

the exit strategy.
Specifically, you must address the following criteria:
1. Expected outcome: Describe the expected outcome related to the organiza�on in the course scenario and iden�fy the goals
you set related to change management at the beginning of this course.
2. Actual outcome: Assess the actual outcome related to the course scenario. Your response should address the following:
a. Compare the actual outcome to the expected outcome by explaining the similari�es and differences.
b. Explain whether there is anything that could have been done differently to ensure that the actual outcome matched
the expected outcome.
3. Learning: Con�nuing in your role in the course scenario, describe how you will apply what you learned from this outcome to
any future organiza�onal transforma�ons.
