Part – Title: Share the paper title that you will be using for your policy brief. A good title should describe the main topic(s) and contents of your brief.
Part 2- Revised Problem Statement: Post your revised problem statement fellow students will be reminded what you are addressing in your brief.
Part-3 Alternatives: List 5 alternatives that you are considering as a means to address your problem. Include a 1-2 sentence description for each alternative that describes how this works and why the problem may be bettered by the alternative. Remember that “no action” may be a plausible alternative.
Part- 4 Criteria and Metrics: List 4 criteria that you will use to evaluate the alternatives. Then, describe the metrics you will use to evaluate these. Remember that you are using the same criteria and metrics for each of the alternatives that you will evaluate in your brief. Also remember that each of the criteria should have its own metric(s). For instance, you might want to assess “effectiveness” as a criterion for an education policy change, and then “percentage change in enrollment” might be an associated metric. Or, a criterion might be “overtime wages paid to farmworkers” and an associated metric might be “percentage change in wages in USD.” Specificity is important. Another way to think about this is to think of the criteria as the variables that you think will be impacted by your alternatives, and the metrics are the specific measurements by which you will assess them.
This is the original problem statement you created. Please, work from this problem statement (change it to ) and focus on the employment displacement from automation
The rising concern that role-based control, automation, and other technological advances may evict people from their jobs will serve as the basis for my problem statement and the policy brief. Many businesses and organizations around the country have identified ways to save expenses in recent years by removing mundane chores that people would do and replacing them with automated technologies. This behavior has often been noticed in our country’s industrial sector, which includes the production of automobiles, trucks, and other essentials that we, as humans, rely on daily. It has had a knock-on impact on many industries, including supermarkets and retail businesses, which have removed cashier employment in favor of solely employing self-checkout devices to check out consumers (Zhou et al., 2019). I firmly believe in using technology to move our society toward a better future. Still, it may work against us in the long-term if we rely too much on it rather than human hands and minds to carry out the essential duties.
