The rising concern that role-based control, automation, and other technological advances may evict people from their jobs will serve as the basis for my problem statement and the policy brief. Many businesses and organizations around the country have identified ways to save expenses in recent years by removing mundane chores that people would do and replacing them with automated technologies. This behavior has often been noticed in our country’s industrial sector, which includes the production of automobiles, trucks, and other essentials that we, as humans, rely on daily. It has had a knock-on impact on many industries, including supermarkets and retail businesses, which have removed cashier employment in favor of solely employing self-checkout devices to check out consumers (Zhou et al., 2019). I firmly believe in using technology to move our society toward a better future. Still, it may work against us in the long-term if we rely too much on it rather than human hands and minds to carry out the essential duties.
