During my internship at Baker Tilly, Jeddah Branch I had the opportunity to work on various
activities which has helped me with practical experiences and a much deeper understanding of the
field. Here is a summary of the major activities that I was involved in:
• In the accounting department, I was able to learn about financial statement analysis where I
was tasked to review the financial records for clients and identify any trend that could impact
their business. In addition, through this analysis, it was easier to evaluate the financial status
of the company and provide valuable insight to the clients for a better decision-making process.
• I also had the privilege of working with the audit team and assisting in conducting substantive
testing, verification of financial records, and assessing the internal controls of the client’s
company. This helped me gain a deeper understanding as far as risk management practices are
concerned which helped in the identification of ways to mitigate risk which a company could
face.
