PROJECT INFORMATION:
You are considering opening a retail establishment, ABC Company and need to make a number of decisions regarding this new company and prepare a number of documents.
Course objectives covered: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6
PROJECT REQUIREMENTS:
This project is split into four (4) parts with one (1) part due each week of the course.
Parts 1, 2 and 3 will utilize Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Part 4 is your Voice-Over PowerPoint or YouTube to be submitted in the Week 4 Presentation Discussion Board.
Part 1: Determine the type of organization you would like for your company (sole proprietor, partnership, corporation, etc.) and explain the advantages and disadvantages of your selection.
Part 2: Create a chart of accounts for ABC Company using the Excel template provided below.

Part 3: Using transactions provided in the worksheet below, complete the following: (1) create journal entries for your company using the template provided; (2) complete the Trial Balance at January 31, 2018 using the same template: and (3) Write a short 1-page report explaining the importance of a Trial Balance and what you discovered. Embed your Trial Balance from part (2) into your report.

Part 4:Using voice-over PowerPoint or YouTube, present and discuss the type of organization you selected in Week 1, the chart of accounts you plan to use in your company and the internal controls you would set up for your company.
Writing Activity:
Weeks 1 and 3 you will submit a 1 page report with at least 1 reference from the Keiser University library. This is expected to be college-level writing. The report needs to be one that your instructor wants to read.

Technology/Collaborative Activity:
You will be presenting and discussing your findings to the class using the voice-over feature in PowerPoint or YouTube. Please be sure the audio is clear and the file or link is accessible in the Week 4 Presentation.
You will be using Excel to create spreadsheets in Week 2 and 3.
Assignment Due Date Schedule:
Week 1: Submit a 1 page report for Part 1 above on your recommendation for the type of organization to establish.
Week 2: Submit a chart of accounts for your company using the Excel template provided for Part 2.
Week 3: Submit your completed Excel file provided above for Part 3 along with your 1 page report.
Week 4: Present and discuss the listed requirements above using voice-over PowerPoint or YouTube.
