PRESENTATION TOPIC: Forms of doing business and impact to owners
ACCTG 332: Federal Income Taxation Presentation (100 points)
Presentations in the business world are important to articulate and communicate issues to
relevant stakeholders. During the Summer 2024 semester you have been Federal Income
Taxation. Part of this learning process has been learning the rules, applying the rules to
problems and using critical thinking skills.
Please think about the issues that have been of interest and/or relevance to you. Please select an
issue/case/topic and prepare a five minute presentation.
I have provided a list of issues/topics to help guide you and if you decide to present on the
issue/topic, please write your name next to the topic – this list will be posted in Google Drive
for you to sign up. If someone else has chosen the topic, then you need to select another
issue/topic. The list of issues/topics provided is not exhaustive and if you want to present on
something that is not on the list of issues/topics, such as a case or another issue then please do so.
However, if you wish to present on a issue/topic similar to one on the list and someone already
has their name down for that issue/topic then you may not present on the issue/topic. This is to
ensure we do not have multiple people presenting on the same issue/topic.
Please ensure the presentation falls within the parameters of issues/topics covered by the course.
If in doubt about a suitable topic, consult the syllabus and/or ask me.
The presentation should be in the form of a PowerPoint slide deck presentation, or similar. You
will be asked to present for five (5) minutes. You should not exceed the five minute limit for the
presentation. You will record your presentation on Zoom and then separately post your
presentation to Canvas to be checked by TurnitIn for plagiarism.
This is not a group assignment. Each person will prepare and present individually.
You will receive marks for your presentation from your peers. Your peers know the parameters
of the presentation and will grade you accordingly. The grade will be based on the ACCTG 332
Presentation Evaluation Rubric with slide deck. You can see the allocation of the points on the
rubric.
Late presentations will not be accepted. If you do not submit your Presentation by the due date
and time you will be unable to participate in the Peer Evaluations.
Please note all plagiarism will result in zero points for your presentation. You all passed the
plagiarism quiz. Please ensure you understand the rules around self-plagiarism and you need to
create a new Presentation and not reuse a presentation from another class/previous class.
