Module 6 Assignment
For the Module 6 Assignment, read the Ethics and Compliance in Action item in Chapter 45
Securities Regulation on page 45-17, and respond to the four questions at the end of the article,
being sure to support your opinions using the information in the textbook and additional
information on crowdfunding from the Securities and Exchange Commission which can be found
at the following address https://www.sec.gov/education/capitalraising. Please access this website
for information on crowdfunding. You should also use one article on the topic from the Wall
Street Journal, Washington Post, or The New York Times as reference in answering the four
questions.
Directions for Access to the UWA Digital Library
The UWA Library Databases may be accessed using the following instructions:
1. Access these newspapers through the UWA Library portal at https://www.uwa.edu/library.
2. Click Databases A to Z.
3. In the Vendor/Provider Dropdown menu at the top of the page, choose ProQuest.
4. When you reach the listing in ProQuest, the newspapers are listed alphabetically. After
choosing the newspaper, search the newspaper for articles relevant to the topic we are discussing.
Directions for Completing the Assignment
Your completed article should be prepared in Times New Roman, be at least 2 pages in length,
double-spaced; however, you are welcome to discuss the issues more fully if you choose to do
so. Please be sure that you support your answers, citing your sources appropriately using APA
format. It is important that you discuss the definition of crowdfunding and the JOBS Act so that
you have a basis on which to build your discussion. You may need to provide additional terms
and definitions as you prepare your answers to the questions. Remember that you should answer
the questions by answering the question, “Why?” Why did you respond as you did? Why do you
support one side or the other? Remember not to use the words “feel, think, believe, and
opinion.” Just state your position and give your support from the sources provided.
