Hello everyone,
I hope we all did well on our projects! Have a safe and fun Happy Halloween! My
understanding of international accounting has changed a lot since taking this course. I never really
thought about what it was like to be an accountant in an MNC. I learned some of what it takes to
run a company that operates in different countries, and the different reporting requirements
used. I can see myself working in international accounting. As I progress after this to achieve a
master’s degree in accounting as well. I never knew Unilever had such trouble with political
matters become their downfall. Balancing the books by selling assets or brands can only last so
long. Hopefully with International accounting there would be some travelling involved, I do enjoy
travelling.

My knowledge of this course has changed significantly. I started the class with a limited
understanding at first but as the course went on my understanding increased and some of the
accounting concepts stood out to me. The effect of cultural, economic, and political elements on
accounting methods attracted my interest the most. It was fascinating to me how a country’s
cultural values and institutional frameworks may impact accounting decisions. This insight pointed
out the importance of cultural sensitivity and awareness of the larger environment in which
accountants function internationally. My increased understanding of international accounting has
given me the information and perspective I need to handle the complexity of international
finances and contribute to ethical financial choices in a multinational environment. I probably
wouldn’t pursue a career in just international accounting but I’m looking forward to starting a
career in Human Resources and I’m interested in how international accounting will fit into the work.
I can apply this knowledge and insights I gained throughout this course in my profession as a
future Human Resources Manager.
