Late Decelerations
Late Decelerations is a type of heart pattern seen in a fetus during labor when oxygen supply may not be adequate. It involves the heart rate decreasing after a contraction. It may require further monitoring.
Signs of preeclampsia:
high blood pressure, liver pain, protein in the urine, headaches, edema
Cervical ripening agents: medications used to ripen the cervix
Maintenance dose: the amount of dose given of a medication that keeps it in the system.
Uteroplacental profusion: the amount of perfusion between the uterus and the placenta
Lactic acid: made by the muscles in the absence of enough oxygen
Metabolic acidosis: occurs when the body produces too much acid or the kidneys aren’t working right.
