Identify and explain Tesco’s recruitment process in the UK. How did the recruitment process at Tesco UK differ during the pandemic? (10 marks) 120 Words approx.

· What is the recruitment process in the UK? Where is the Tesco head office located? (What roles does Tesco mainly recruit for (e.g. store workers, packers and pickers, delivery drivers, retail assistants. Is the recruitment process different they hire a delivery driver compared to a software analyst?
· What was the recruitment process during the covid-19 pandemic? Where possible use statistics to explain the number of jobs offered.

Identify and explain TWO platforms where Tesco advertise their jobs, and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of these platforms. (15marks) 180 words approx.
· Tesco may use all of the following advertising platforms;
· Company website– Highlight advantages and disadvantages (use statistics to show how more and more people have access to the internet) . What could be amazon’s target audience?
· Online agencies/recruitment websites/ career websites – Advantages and disadvantages (use statistics to show how more and more people have access to the internet – age range of people using the internet – what age range would Tesco prefer to hire? Why?
· If possible, suggest any other viable advertising platform and justify why Tesco should consider using that particular advertising platform in the future.

Identify and explain the different employment opportunities at Tesco plc. Provide reasons why these types of jobs are offered. 180 words approx. (15 marks)
· Tesco offers different contracts such as full-time, part-time, temporary, and seasonal contracts. Remember they have different types of stores e.g. Tesco express, superstores etc.
· Contracts are legally binding documents.
This terminology should be included in your answer.
· Different programs offered to school leavers and graduates. What are they? See Tesco careers website
· Find figures on how many new recruits they employed during the covid-19 pandemic time. Check data for year 2020.
· Discuss why Tesco use these different employment types. Also, explain why certain contract types are more popular than other types. Additionally, if possible highlight whether, contract types are varied in other countries Tesco operates.

Tesco provided a lot of jobs during the covid-19 pandemic. Discuss how employees could’ve been motivated. Please use motivation theory. 360 words (30 marks).
· Define motivation.(Preferably by using a book)
· Briefly mention/ define motivation theories e.g. Herzberg theory of motivation (2 factor theory) and Maslow Hierarchy of need.
· Discuss some of the challenges Tesco employees would have faced working during this period.
· More responsibilities may motivate employees.
· However, more responsibilities without extra pay / bonuses might demotivate employees. – Please discuss! Provide your perspective using secondary sources.

5. “Employment at Tesco plc during the covid-19 pandemic saw employees move from the application stage to the shop floor in approximately 4 hours.” Evaluate the ethical implications of this process

after the covid-19 pandemic. (30 marks)

· Consider the advantages of “fast recruitment” for the company.
