Overview
The American Civil is one of the major turning points whose impacts can be felt up to date. The central theme that sparked a war between confederates and people from union states was the issue of slavery. Other than slavery-related issues, it is also good to note that issues regarding politics, economic, social, and ideological causes sparked the war (Brainly.com, 2020).
What makes the Confederates different from the American colonists? Why were the American colonists considered Patriots while the Confederates were considered rebels?
The main difference between the confederates and American colonists is that as opposed to American colonists who are defined by their nature as being patriots, the confederates were regarded as rebels. It is good to note that from the above points, the confederates are regarded as rebels because their motive was to quit and break away from the union government and even their own government. This was taken as a disloyal move (Brainly.com, 2020). As opposed to the disloyal confederates, the American colonists were regarded as patriots and loyal groups since the desire was geared towards acquiring ring independence from Great Britain. Additionally, the confederates also desired to proceed with slavery activities by disapproving of the end of slavery activities. On the other hand, the American colonist had the desire to resist the enforcement of British taxes (Denham, 2021). They also opposed trade restrictions that the British government had enforced. In summary, the American union fought for the preservation of their union but as for the confederates they fought to protect their home
What makes the Union different from England?
The union was made of president Abraham Lincoln’s national government along with the twenty free states which supported the north and opposed the southerners (Denham, 2021). On the other hand, England largely supported the southerners and was never involved in civil wars as its counterpart union.
