While it only has the capability for three citation styles, it is free and will allow you to export your bibliography to MS Word.

With a Citefast account, you can create and save your bibliographies as well as create folders for different papers. However, even without creating an account, you can still use Citefast as a drive-by citing and referencing tool. If you keep visiting the site your Citefast will save your source. Otherwise, after four days of inactivity, the site will delete your sources.

Your Drive-By Citing and Referencing Tool

Citefast lives up to its name as it is the kind of citing and referencing tool that will keep things moving for you. Although, you should keep an eye on how it formats different styles. Some citation styles might not be updated to their latest versions. Or, you may pick an earlier version. For example, both APA 6 and apa7 are both available to use. Follow the instructions below to use the citing and referencing tool.

• Select a style
• Select source.
• Enter whatever information as prompted in the search box then press the search icon
• If your search does not generate results, try doing it the manual way.

• As you type your bibliographic information in the manual method, you will note that your citation has started to materialize. This option also allows you a space at the bottom where you can enter your annotation.

• View your citation in the bibliography on the right

• Citefast will attach an ‘in-text’ link to the bibliographies to help you format in-text citations

• Export your bibliography to Word or copy/paste it into your paper

Bibliography management

You can use citations multiple times in different bibliographies, as long as they are relevant that is. To do that simply go to the Manage bibliographies page. Click on Create New Bibliography. Create the bibliography. Now select the bibliography from the dropdown in the right panel. Click on “« add” next to the citations that you want to copy.

Create a title page on Citefast

A title page is required in academic writing for all your papers. Each style has a different format for the title page. To generate a title page:

• Click on Create Title Page button, select citation format (e.g., APA7, APA, MLA, and Chicago)
• Type in the information for Running head, Title, Author, Institution, Course, Date, and Author note.

• When you are done, click on ‘Create title page’.
