1. What are the critical topics you are still struggling with? How will you improve your knowledge of these topics before your midterm? I am currently struggling with conversions an making sure to apply the math and each ratio correctly. I normally get stuck with the second ratio and making sure I’m calculating correctly. I’ve been practicing a lot on quizlet and taking my time on the conversions. I am practicing with the study guide. I am also in a study group with a few other girls and that’s helping.
- After identifying the essential topics, what would be the most productive methodology for exam preparation? I study by using the study guide and mastering my weakest strength and physically righting out the problem.
The common denominator for learning mathematics is working on many problems. Roughly, how many problems did you do to master the math topics provided in this course thus far? Maybe 3 examples to really master the math topics.

- What are the critical topics you are still struggling with? How will you improve your knowledge of these topics before your midterm? I struggle when the longer the equation is and the more letters/numbers there are. I understand how it should be solved but it’s trying to figure out where to start to make the problem smaller and get to where I want to be. I will improve by using websites like cymath that help you break down the steps to get you where you need to be. I also plan to use the study guide and the practice activities. The most important thing that I can do to help myself is ask questions and not be ashamed if things still are not making sense. Math has never been my strong suite and I am ok with admitting that. Where there is a will there’s a way.
- After identifying the essential topics, what would be the most productive methodology for exam preparation? Practice! Practice! Practice! There are so many things out there on the internet that help you quiz yourself and help you learn the steps! I really enjoy the join my quiz activity that we do when we get to class on Tuesday.
- The common denominator for learning mathematics is working on many problems. How many problems did you do to master the math topics provided in this course thus far? I do not know that I can even put a number on this, to be honest I have done so many practice problems on my own and in the assignments because this is all really challenging for me! Just when I got it down, I submit an answer and it is wrong, but I will get there. I went into this class knowing that this would be a struggle for me and I would need all the help. I am in my 30’s and I have not taken Math in a very long time
