Deliverable Length- (10-15 Slides , presentation paper typed.)
Your plan is finished, but your job is not done. You still need to sell the plan to investors.
Your assignment is to use the content of your business plan to develop a PowerPoint presentation that can be used to attract investors, venture capitalists, and angel investors. Your presentation should take no longer than 10 minutes, and it should include no more than 12 slides of content. How you format the presentation is up to you. There is no right way to pitch to investors, but there are plenty of suggestions in your textbooks and other resources. Choose a format that works for your venture. Deliver and record a 10-minute presentation in which you pitch your venture for review by a panel of peers and the professor.
All of the required sections should be included in your completed plan (not necessarily in the following order):

Executive Summary
This executive summary outlines the problem, solution, and business plan to establish a new daycare center, J2s
Kiddie Klubhouse & Learning Center, in response to the problems faced by working parents in our community. Our daycare center aims to provide a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old. Our mission is to offer quality childcare for all families by offering a warm, loving, nurturing, and educational environment. Our vision is to contribute to the education of children by proving lessons, games, and crafts based on the children’s age.
The main problem in the community that encouraged me to start a new business venture, a daycare center, is the lack of quality and affordable childcare options for working parents. Besides, the cost of childcare has significantly rising making it complex for most families to afford it. Most parents often struggle to find reliable and safe childcare providers who can cater to their children’s individual needs. This problem is particularly acute in urban areas where parents may not have access to extended family or a network of trusted friends to rely on for childcare. This creates a significant barrier to parents’ ability to work, pursue educational opportunities, or engage in other activities that require them to be away from their children.
Our daycare center will provide a solution to the above problem by offering a safe, affordable, and nurturing environment for children while their parents are at work. At our daycare center, we will prioritize providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere where children can learn, grow, and have fun. Our staff will be highly trained, experienced, and passionate about childcare, ensuring that each child receives personalized attention and care.
The demand for quality children’s services is rising as more parents enter the workforce. Our target market includes working parents who live in nearby residential areas and need reliable and affordable childcare. We will also serve families who are new to the area and are looking for an alternative to their current childcare provider. Our daycare center will be in a busy area with great access to public transportation and ample parking.
Our daycare facility will offer full-day and half-day programs with flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of working parents. We will also provide drop-in care for parents who require occasional childcare. Additionally, we will extend our services to children with disability and other special needs. Our programs will mainly focus on early childhood development, including social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Our curriculum will be designed to promote active learning, creativity, and independence.
Our management team has extensive experience in the childcare industry and will oversee the day-to-day operations of the center. We will hire a team of experienced and qualified childcare professionals who are passionate about working with children. All staff members will be certified in CPR and First Aid, and we will conduct background checks and reference checks on all potential employees.
We will leverage multiple marketing channels to promote our daycare center, including social media, online directories, and local advertising. We will also partner with local businesses and organizations to promote our services to their employees and members. Our sales strategy will focus on building relationships with parents and providing exceptional customer service to retain their business. Our startup costs will include rent, equipment, furniture, supplies, and salaries for our management and staff. We anticipate generating revenue through program fees and drop-in care fees. We will also seek funding through grants and loans to support our startup costs.
We also recognize the existence of competition for our new business venture. To deal with competition, we will differentiate our services by offering flexible scheduling options, affordable services, qualified staff, and additional services that our competitors do not offer. We will also provide promotions and discounts to new customers and existing customers with more than one child enrolled to help attract parents who are considering other daycare centers. For example, we may offer discounted rates or a free trial day for the first month of enrollment. To increase the visibility of our business, we will establish strong relationships with other businesses and organizations in the community such as local schools. Additionally, we will regularly evaluate the pricing of our services relative to the competition to remain competitive while still maintaining profitability.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to offer high-quality education and care that is client-centered, values our children, and is holistic. J2’s Kiddie Klubhouse & Learning Center ‘s main goal is to help the kids grow and develop as much as possible by providing them with opportunities for a range of activities, including learning, playing, and socializing.
Vision Statement
Our vision is to be a renowned leader in offering the best care for all children. In general, the J2s Kiddie Klubhouse & Learning Center provides families with young children in their home with a service that is broad and of the highest standard.
Product or Service
The new business venture will focus on the provision of daycare services for children. Our daycare service will be a sole proprietorship, but it may develop into a partnership in the future. Therefore, we will have to investigate the legal form that protects the people involved from personal liabilities. We will also be responsible for the health of the children, especially with the fact that there will always be a potential for injury within our business premises.
Market Opportunity
Our target market will typically include children from infancy to school age. Our specific age range will depend on the daycare center’s licensing and program offerings. We will be primarily located in a residential neighborhood where we will serve families living in that area. We aim to offer our services to parents and caregivers working full-time or part-time as well as those working irregular hours. Based on the age of the children and the number of hours spent taking care of them, we will determine the price of each child enrolled.
Competitive Environment
To determine the viability of our new business, we will analyze the market share of our competitors and the possible impediments that may hinder us from flourishing. To begin with, our daycare center will be strategically located in a residential neighborhood which will increase our competitive edge. Besides, our selected location has very few daycare centers which will give us an opportunity to attract customers and increase brand awareness. Additionally, we intend to offer specialized programs and services such as after-school care which will give us a competitive advantage over other services that offer only basic services. Moreover, we will provide affordable pricing which will attract customers from over-priced facilities for the same quality of services.
Facilities
Our daycare center will include different facilities to ensure the smooth running and delivery of childcare services. First, we will have dedicated classrooms for children of different ages which will be designed with age-appropriate furniture, learning materials, and toys. Additionally, there will be outdoor play areas that will be designed with soft surfaces, toys, and equipment. There will also be restrooms that are clean, well-lit, and easily accessible. To provide children and staff with meals and snacks, we will have a kitchen and dining area. Moreover, there will be an office and administrative area as well as a nap or rest area designated for the staff and children respectively.
Operating Plans
We intend to follow the long list of health and safety regulations published by our state. This may include the number of children that each employee should handle and how the number may vary with the age of the children. We will also have a well-defined program and curriculum that details the types of activities, learning opportunities, and services provided to children like teaching methods. The plan will also incorporate staffing including the number of staff required, their roles and responsibilities, qualifications, plan for hiring, etc. Additionally, there will be a plan for communicating with parents and caregivers including offering regular updates, clear policies on how to address concerns, and conferences. We will also have a financial plan that includes billing procedures, tuition, and fees, as well as a plan for maintaining the facilities and equipment.
Legal Structure
Our childcare center will follow all the legal protocols needed to be successful. We will familiarize ourselves with basic employment law issues such as workers’ compensation, illegal discrimination, and how to deal with the hiring and recruitment process. In our case, the daycare center is a sole proprietorship where the facility will be owned and operated by a single individual. The facility’s owner will be responsible for all aspects of the business inclusive of the financial and legal liabilities. We will operate with the guidance of a lawyer, and we will be ready for any additional regulations and licensing requirements at the local and state levels.

Vision for the Board
Our board will focus on both governance and offering advice, but it will primarily focus on advice based on our business needs and structure. The board will provide guidance and advice to our leadership team such as how to grow and improve the business. They will also provide industry expertise and offer insights into emerging trends and practices. However, the board of advisors will also play a governance role such as overseeing the business operations, setting policies, monitoring performance, and ensuring that the organization is meeting its legal and ethical obligations.
We will leverage the handful of experts on our board in various ways. To begin with, we will schedule regular meetings with them to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing our daycare business. The meetings will be held in person or virtually and will be a great way of tapping into the collective expertise of the group. Additionally, whenever we have specific issues or questions that we need advice on, we will reach out to individual members of the board who have relevant expertise. The frequency and location of the board of advisors’ meetings for our business will vary depending on the specific needs and goals of our business.
Digital Marketing Policy
To begin with, our new business will have a policy that defines the goals and objectives of our digital marketing activities. This will include improving website traffic, creating brand awareness, generating leads, and improving customer engagement. The policy will also offer clear guidelines for the type of content that is This will include standards appropriate to be posted and shared on our digital and social media platforms. for tone, language, image quality, and rules for the type of content allowed. The digital marketing policy will also include a social media policy that will detail how employees should use social media on behalf of our daycare business such as engaging with customers, responding to negative feedback, and maintaining a professional image online. Furthermore, the policy will include instructions on data protection and privacy. This will guide the collection, storage, and use of customer data and the protection of the privacy of customers. This will also include how informed consent will be obtained from customers and how to comply with data protection regulations such as GDPR.
Social Media Strategy
A social media strategy is a plan that outlines how a business will use social media to achieve its marketing and communication goals. It involves identifying the target audience, selecting the social media platforms that are most relevant to that audience, and creating a plan for producing and distributing content on those platforms (Quesenberry, 2020). Social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram, will be used to reach a wider audience and build a strong online presence. This will include posting regular updates about the daycare services, highlighting staff members and the facilities, and sharing photos and videos of the children and their activities.
Statement of Social Entrepreneurship
Our daycare center will demonstrate social entrepreneurship by focusing on providing high-quality, affordable childcare services to families in need while also dealing with social and environmental issues associated with childcare. To begin with, we will make our daycare center accessible and affordable to all families despite their income levels or socioeconomic backgrounds. We intend to offer different forms of financial assistance to families in need such as scholarships and subsidies, particularly for families from underprivileged communities.
Additionally, our daycare facility will prioritize providing high-quality education and developing opportunities for children under our care. We plan to develop innovative and engaging learning programs that assist children to develop their social, emotional, and cognitive skills which can assist them in thriving in school and beyond.
Management Team & Organizational Chart
Our organizational structure will provide a framework for performing the work of a daycare center. We intend to adapt the components of our organizational structure to meet the specific goals and needs of a child-centered business. Our childcare center will comprise a large corporation with upper management and a complete organizational structure. We will also be guided by well-laid-out policies and procedures that all members of staff will be required to know and follow to the latter.
As the managing director, I will supervise and lead all staff, design programs, prepare budgets, and supervise daily activities. My roles and responsibilities will be inclusive of supervision of preschool teachers and childcare staff, formulating policies and communicating them to parents and workers, overseeing the recruitment and hiring of new workers and creating professional development opportunities for them as well as selecting the digital technology for the childcare center.
The human resource manager will oversee the recruitment and hiring of new workers. For permanent manpower, the HR team will utilize advertisements, or use employment agencies to find the right candidates. Our childcare center staff will need to have degrees or experiences in child-related subject areas. Our state requires administrators and teachers to have certificates, degrees, or permits to work in a licensed daycare center. They will also require continuing education and annual training such as CPR.
The cook and cooking staff will handle the preparation and serving of attractive and nutritional meals for the children, and staff. This will include the preparation of breakfast, lunch, and afternoon dishes and snacks, preparation of the right amounts and proportions of meals per classroom, as well as ensuring that the weekly food orders are maintained, and a clean and organized kitchen is maintained.
The finance staff will be responsible for the financial management of the daycare center. This entails developing budgets, handling accounting, and overseeing accounts payable and receivable. They will also handle the daycare expenses such as zoning permits and different facility-related costs by acquiring licensure and permits. This may also be inclusive of application and processing fees, annual state licensing costs, and training program costs. In the future, we will have a board of governors for the facility who will be responsible for the development, establishment, and enforcement of the facility’s policies. The board will monitor all functions and processes including regulatory and financial and will oversee hiring and supervising the daycare director.
Organizational Chart
Company Story
As a resident of this community, I have noticed a recurring problem that most families and caregivers have faced which is the difficulty in finding reliable and affordable daycare services for their children. As a result, many employees have had to miss work or take time off to care for their children leading to a decrease in productivity and financial strain for both the company as well as the employees. Recognizing the impact that this problem was having on working parents and the community at large, I decided to act. I conducted a survey among different families and found that the lack of affordable and quality daycare options was a major issue for most of them. I realized that creating a new business venture, J2s Kiddie Klubhouse & Learning Center was a unique opportunity to address this issue.
To make this happen, I designed a business plan, and I am working on various sectors to set up the daycare center. I am also ready to create partnerships and work with various community organizations and agencies to make this dream happen. Our daycare center will ensure that all required safety and health standards are met, and that only experienced, and qualified staff will be hired to manage the center. The staff will be constantly on the move, engaging with children and helping them with their tasks.
The sense of community and support will be created, and it will be clear that our daycare center is not just a place to leave your child while you work but a place where they can thrive and flourish. As parents leave our facility, we aim to create in them a sense of gratitude for the loving and caring environment that has been created for their children. Our daycare center aims to have a positive impact on the community. We will focus on creating job opportunities for local people and providing affordable and quality childcare services for working parents who previously struggled to find such services.
Generally, J2s Kiddie Klubhouse & Learning Center is a new job venture that recognized a problem in the community and took proactive steps to solve it. By establishing an on-site daycare center, we hope to not only address the childcare issue but also contribute to the well-being of the whole community at large. Our daycare center embodies the spirit of hope, joy, and positivity, and it is a testament to the power of nurturing and supporting young minds.
