The Final Project will consist of a Tableau Analysis and Presentation. Please follow this link to download Tableau.

Download the following attachments to complete the Project.
Superstore Dashboard
1. Open Tableau
2. Open the Microsoft Excel worksheet titled Superstore Data
3. Click on the Data Source Tab and drag the Orders dimension from the left onto the
Sample – Superstore sheet. Continue to drag the People and Returns dimensions onto
the Sample – Superstore sheet. Look at how the tables connect through relationships on
the sheet.
4. Take a screenshot of the Data Source Tab showing the data. Make sure to save ALL
screenshots on a separate Word Docx. The screenshots must be turned in also.
5. Right-Click on Sheet 1. Rename Sheet 1 to Sales Chart.
6. Drag the Region and Category dimensions into the Rows section. Make sure Region is
positioned to the left of Category. Then drag Ship Date into the Columns area. At this
point, there will be a chart that contains YEAR(Ship Date), Region, and Category.
7. Drag the Sales measure into the Text card under Marks. Then drag the Profit measure
into the Text card under Marks. Finally, drag the Quantity measure into the Text card
under Marks.
8. Click on and create a new sheet.
9. Drag the Category and Segment dimensions into Columns. Make sure that Category is
positioned to the right of the Segment dimension.
10. Drag the Sales measure into Rows.
11. Drag the Category dimension into the Color card under Marks.
12. Right-Click on Sheet 2. Rename Sheet 2 to Superstore Sales.
13. Take a screenshot of the Superstore Sales sheet showing the data. Make sure to save
ALL screenshots on a separate Word Docx. The screenshots must be turned in also.
14. Click on and create a new sheet.
15. Drag the Profit measure to the Columns area. Then drag the Sales measure to the Rows
area.
16. Drag the Category dimension into the Color card.
17. Drag the Sub-Category dimension into the Label card under Marks.
18. Drag the Quantity measure into the Size card.
19. Click on the Size card to adjust the size of the bubbles.
20. Right-Click on Sheet 3. Rename Sheet 3 to Bubble Chart.
21. Take a screenshot of the Bubble Chart sheet showing the data. Make sure to save ALL
screenshots on a separate Word Docx. The screenshots must be turned in also.
22. Click on and create a new sheet.
23. Double-click the State dimension and a map will appear.
24. In the Marks area change Automatic to Map.
25. Drag the Sales measure to the Color card in the Marks area.
26. Drag the Sales measure to the Label card in the Marks area.
27. Click on the Color card and change the color from Automatic to Green.
28. Right-Click on Sheet 4. Rename Sheet 4 to US Map.
29. Click on and create a new sheet.
30. Drag the Sub-Category dimension to the Columns area. Then drag the Sales measure to
the Rows area.
31. Drag the Sub-Category dimension into the Color card.
32. Right-Click on Sheet 5. Rename Sheet 5 to Sub-Category Sales.
33. Click on and create a new sheet.
34. Drag the Sales measure into the Size card under Marks. Then drag the Sales measure
into the Color card under Marks.
35. Drag the Segment dimension into the Label card under Marks.
36. Drag the Category dimension into the Label card under Marks.
37. Drag the Sales measure into the Label card under Marks.
38. Drag the Ship Date dimension into the Label card under Marks.
39. Click on the Color card under Marks, select Edit Colors, and change the color palette to
Temperature Diverging.
40. Right-Click on Sheet 6. Rename Sheet 6 to Treemap Sales.
41. Click on and create a new dashboard.
42. On the left of the screen under the Size card on the Dashboard pane enter 1920 x 1220
for the Custom Size. Drag the 4 of the 6 sheets onto the dashboard and arrange the sheets
to fit into the area.
43. Right-click on the dashboard and select Floating. Floating will allow the tiles to be sized
to fit on the screen as needed.
44. Right-click on the dashboard and rename it to Sales Dashboard.
45. Place the sheets on the dashboard and align them so that they fit. Another tool that will
aid in the positioning of the sheets is Entire View. Entire View can be found by
selecting a sheet on the dashboard and clicking down on the top right corner of the sheet.
A drop-down menu will open then select Fit and then Entire View, or any of the other
options.
46. Save the file as Superstore Sales Assignment_YourName. Click on File in the top left
corner. Select Export as PowerPoint and then select Export with This View selected.
Make sure your export contains a view of the dashboard.
47. Write a 750-word paper that explains this data to your supervisor. You will need to
analyze all sheets in this dashboard. This write-up should explain the following:
A. Go to the Sales Chart sheet, and see what was the highest selling Category
(Furniture, Office Supplies, or Technology) of products in 2015, 2016, & 2017?
B. Find and list every Category, Region, and Year that suffered a loss. The numbers with
a negative symbol (-) in front of them represent losses.
C. On the Superstore Sales sheet, list the nine sales numbers from all of the categories.
Briefly describe what these numbers represent.
D. Go to the Bubble Chart sheet and select the three largest bubbles. For each bubble,
find the Sales and Profit numbers. Find the percentage of the profit by (Profit/Sales)
and list.
E. On the US Map sheet, name the five highest states and their sales amounts.
F. Go to the Sub-Category Sales sheet, find the three lowest sub-categories and their
sales numbers. These three sub-categories will be looked at for removal and
replacement of products.
G. On the Treemap Sales sheet find the Technology numbers in Consumer, and
Corporate for 2015-2018.
H. Write 250 words about the value of a data dashboard in an organization.
