This week, I had the opportunity to train in the medical records department of the Air Force hospital.
I learned a great deal about the medical record cycle, structure, and organization, as well as how to
sort, file, and retrieve medical records following correct procedures. I also took a tour of the medical
records department and, including the transcription room and registration room, filing room ,
assembly room, coding room and so on . Additionally, I learned how to retrieve medical records in
the proper way in numerical order.
Overall, I had a very positive experience this week. I learned a lot about the medical records
department and how it plays an important role in the hospital. I also enjoyed meeting the different staff
members and learning about their jobs.

This week, I continued my COOP training in the medical records department of the Air Force hospital.
I learned how to locate misfiled records, apply procedures for tracking medical records, and
assemble hospital inpatient forms in the logical filing order according to hospital policy.
I found this week’s training to be very informative and helpful. I learned a lot about the importance of
maintaining accurate and complete medical records, and the procedures that are in place to ensure
the quality and integrity of medical records. I also gained a better understanding of the role that the
medical records department plays in the overall functioning of the hospital.
I am grateful for the opportunity to have trained in the medical records department this week. I have
learned a lot from the experienced staff members, and I am confident that I will be able to use my
skills and knowledge to make a positive contribution to the department.
Locate misfiled records. To locate misfiled records, I first learned to identify the different types of
medical records and the proper filing system. I then learned how to use the hospital’s medical record
tracking system to search for missing records. If I was unable to find a record in the tracking system, I
would check with the different departments that may have had possession of the record.

This week, I continued my COOP training in the medical records department of the Air Force hospital.
I learned how to code newborn and pediatric medical records.
I found this week’s training to be very informative and helpful. I learned about the different types of
medical codes that are used for newborn and pediatric patients, and how to assign the correct codes
based on the patient’s diagnosis, procedures, and other factors by using Inova system . I also
learned about the importance of accurate medical coding for reimbursement and quality
improvement purposes.
I am grateful for the opportunity to have trained in the medical records department this week. I have
learned a lot from the experienced staff members, and I am confident that I will be able to use my skills
and knowledge to make a positive contribution to the department.

This week has been a great learning experience for me. I have had the opportunity to shadow the
quality department supervisors and learn about the different aspects of quality improvement in an air
force hospital. I have also had the chance to participate in several meetings and workshops on topics
such as the IHI model of improvement, hospital accreditation criteria, and the Saudi Central Board for
Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI).
I am particularly interested in the IHI model of improvement, as it provides a structured framework
for
identifying and implementing quality improvement initiatives. I am also eager to learn more about the
CBAHI standards, as these are the benchmarks by which air force hospitals in Saudi Arabia are
accredited.
Overall, I am very grateful for the opportunity to participate in this COOP training program. I am
confident that the knowledge and skills I am gaining will be invaluable in my future career as a
healthcare professional.

This week, I have been focused on learning about safety and staff improvements in the air force
hospital, as well as the availability, data management, accessibility, and continuous updating of KPIs.

different initiatives that are underway to improve safety and working conditions for staff . I have also
had the chance to participate in several meetings and workshops on topics such as risk
management, patient safety, employee engagement, and KPI development and implementation.

an essential tool for quality improvement, and I am eager to learn more about how they can be used

I have learned that it is important for KPIs to be available, accessible, and up-to-date in order to be
effective. KPIs should be available to all relevant stakeholders, so that they can be used to track
progress and identify areas for improvement. KPIs should also be easy to access, so that
stakeholders can quickly get the information they need. Finally, KPIs should be updated regularly to
reflect changes in the healthcare environment and in the organization’s goals and objectives.
