Abstract
Criminal psychology or criminological psychology is an essential study area that helps the criminal justice system unit, the police and law enforcement expert to examine and understand the behavioral aspects of criminals. Criminal psychology studies the feelings, ideas, aims, plans and reactions of delinquents and suspects. Criminal psychoanalysts play meaningful duties with the criminal justice department, like giving testimony as masterful witnesses and executing psychological evaluations. In addition, criminal psychoanalysts also help the police and the criminal justice systems justices to study potential features of criminal behavior (Maruna 2021 pg. 310). Their evaluations significantly enable law enforcement officials, judges and police to define and describe criminal conduct as punishable by public regulation, immoral conduct, and behavior violating social norms or traditions, or acts causing severe psychological harm.
Introduction
Criminal psychology is a branch of psychology that studies the behavioral characteristic of offenders. Criminal behavior is a conduct of a culprit leading to illegal actions. In criminal justice systems, criminal psychoanalysts study the behavioral aspects of criminals to pinpoint and comprehend and understand their motivations of criminals. Criminal psychologists also study the behavioral aspects of criminals to develop a psychological profile to understand or apprehend lawbreakers. To discover these behaviors, criminal psychoanalysts examine individual criminal behaviors and diagnose any mental health conditions (Hollin, 2019 pg., 1236). For instance, some criminal psychologists and other experts assess the mental health and readiness of defendants to face trial. By studying the behavioral features of delinquents, criminal psychologists can run criminal profiling, also called offender profiling.
Criminal profiling is a criminal evaluation associating an offender’s movements at the crime scene with their most likely attitudes or aspects. Criminal profiling is used by experts in criminal psychology to assist law enforcement detectives in reducing and prioritizing a list of suspects. In some police departments like the Federal Bureau of investigation, delinquent profiling is well established as a criminal investigative review. Criminal justice experts train investigative analysts and experienced officers who study every behavioral aspect and detail of an unsolved violent crime scene in which a certain portion of psychopathology has been left at the location (Chitra & Karunanidhi, 2021 pg. 12). This article describes a research proposal regarding behavioral aspects of delinquents, including a literature review, research strategies and participants involved in this study. In addition, the paper outlines the apparatus, procedures, designs, results and discussions that pinpoint the significance of results, ethical guidelines, limitations of the review, and potential future studies that arise from the analysis.
Literature Review
Criminal activities are critical concerns that trouble the criminal justice system and the federal or local governments and seriously affect the people and their daily way of life. Behavioral aspects are among the chief contributors to criminal activity in the community. Different criminal conducts push delinquents. To deter crime, the police and experienced law enforcement officers get trained in a recognized curriculum and equipped with working tools. Therefore, the state authorities expect these agents to perform their duties extraordinarily (Rajeevan
et al., 2022). Nevertheless, most people have realized that despite these workouts, the criminal justice system has failed to adequately control crime by establishing proper responses or outputs to police operations. These crises have occurred in zones with a wide volume of people. Most individuals understand that criminal activities are driven by criminal aspects of delinquents in all corners of the communities where they go about their relations or reside.
Therefore, this review differs from the previous studies because it aims to examine the behavioral features of lawbreakers. Conversely, other reviews have primarily examined the possible dimension of inadequate policing resulting in increased crime rates (Van Scotter & Roglio, 2020 pg. 458). Additionally, different reviews seek to understand the most successful strategies and how police should implement them to control criminal activities. In addition, unlike this study, other investigations have focused on studying how limited police numbers versus the population per service area have progressed criminal activities.
In addition, other studies have looked at the components of police behavior as individuals. In general, previous similar studies have also missed examining the uncontrollable behaviors factors or aspects criminal that could be causing excessive workloads to the police and criminal justice system in a different environment where these divisions operate (Rajeevan
et al., 2022). Therefore the top difference between this review and the preceding ones I that this investigation concentrates primarily on behavioral therapy. Prior studies appear to be more persuasive on policing in crime hotspots which is inadequate to this study because they are not addressing criminal attitudes and behavior.
Research
Research Method
This review will employ interviews to draw information regarding the behavioral characteristics of criminals. One of the reasons for using interviews is this student is that it will support in selecting the ideal candidates for the investigation. An interview increases a person’s success in selecting the most appropriate participants to run a review (Haskell & Randall, 2019). Another reason for using interviews in this study is because they support a person in running detailed evaluations. Interviews allow the interviewer and interviewee to visualize how certain aspects affect their lives. The interview will also allow the investigator to ask several queries reading criminals’ behavioral aspects, allowing them to document reasonable reactions.
Additionally, Interviews will allow an investigator to understand them and get to know more details by reading the participants. The primary goal of an interview is to know and understand the participant’s grievances and strengths (Van Scotter & Roglio, 2020 pg. 463). Hence, an interview will allow the examiner to understand the behaviors driving criminal activities. In general, the interview will support the researcher in explaining, better understanding, and exploring research subjects’ opinions, behavior, experiences, and phenomenon.
Participants
Different participants will participate in this study to provide sufficient information about the behavioral features of criminals. The first and primary participants will be the police and law enforcement authorities. This research seeks to reveal criminals’ behaviors that cause increased criminal activities. (Ostapovich
et al., 2020 pg. 125) Therefore, the police and law experts will form the primary respondents. The reason that the police will allow the interviewer to record potential criminal attitudes that drive criminal activities is that they are the one who deals with these crises.
The other participants will be the criminals, the immediate subjects of criminal activities. This group of participants will allow the interviewer to draw individual information and motives that push these lawbreakers to commit crimes. It will also support the interrogator in documenting additional information describing a criminal’s attitude (Norris
et al., 2019 pg. 234). Another team of players who will talk part in this interview are the residents from the most affected areas. These participants will allow a reviewer to draw what they think drives criminal conduct. The interview will also welcome a criminal psychologist who will provide detailed information on the main drivers of behavioral aspects of crime. The criminal psychologist will also help the interviewee discover measures that might drive or control behavioral aspects of lawbreakers.
Apparatus for Running Interviews
The interviewer will use different tools and apparatus to run an excellent interview. First and foremost, the interrogator will have coordination and scheduling devices such as mobile reminders, organizers, planners and Google calendars. These tools will allow the examiners and participants to set an interview appointment (Chitra & Karunanidhi, 2021 pg. 20). For example, mobile reminders will support the interviewer in coordinating the time and place of the interview activity. In addition, mobile reminders will support the reviewer in implementing effective communication between all parties. Organizers will support the interrogator in running a strategic probe because the interview might take a lot of time.

The interviewer will also use audio, microphones, pens, video recorders and papers to record the interview responses. During an interview, the reviewer will deliver queries to the respondents, who will, in turn, give their feedback. Therefore, the interviewer will use recording materials and tools such as audio and video recorders, including pens and paper, to document the answers (Haskell & Randall, 2019). Additional tools that might be helpful to the interview include filing cabinets, flash discs, and cloud warehouse platforms. These tools will enable the interview to store the collected information safely.

Procedure of the Interview
To run the interview, the interrogator will follow the guidelines and procedures. First and foremost, the interviewer will define the position and description of the process. This approach will help the examiners to specify the requirements an interviewee must meet to participate in the activity. The investigator will then prepare specific queries about the interrogation in advance. This procedure will enable the interviewer to ensure that they cover all the bases they wanted to cover in the interrogation. Next, the interviewer will set a layout for where the interview will happen (Hollin, 2019 pg., 1243). The layout will support the interviewer in dictating how he will ask and receive the questions and answers. Setting the layout will also allow the interviewer to remove any confusion and disruption during the interrogation. The interviewer will then conduct a phone screen or a one-way video interview before the in-person interview. This step will enable the interviewer to grasp and record every response given by the respondent.
Study Design
The above investigation will utilize the correlational non-experimental design. This method of non-experimental study involves measuring two factors and determining their correlation while making little to no attempt to control unrelated variables. Therefore, this design will allow the examiner to evaluate the association between the behavioral characteristics of criminals and crime (Maruna 2021 pg. 319). This design will thus help the investigator to pinpoint and explain how the behavioral features of delinquents push them to commit crimes. Again, this design will enable the reviewer to describe how specific behavioral aspects of crime motivate particular offences.
Results of the Study
Based on this review, the behavioral aspects of criminals could greatly influence criminal activities. For example, biological risk factors can make a person aggressive. Criminal pathologists believe that criminals with neuroendocrine functioning tend to commit criminal acts (Norris
et al., 2019 pg. 245). Again behavioral features of criminals, such as adverse teenage experiences, could also promote criminal movements. The reason is that children who enjoy pleasant childhood adventures tend to be calmer and commit fewer crimes in adulthood.
Conversely, teens that grow up in particularly harsh contests or situations are at an increased risk for criminal behavior in their youth and adulthood. In addition, a negative social environment can also increase a person’s criminal conduct. The reason is that children who grow up in a high-crime community tend to develop severe conduct that can increase their chances of becoming criminals (Ostapovich
et al., 2020 pg. 132). Similarly, behavioral aspects of crime, such as drug abuse, can also expand the chance of developing a criminal attitude. For example, increased alcoholism can make a person harsh. Therefore, these people are likely involved in conflicts and other crimes like drunk driving.
Ethical Considerations
Participants’ dignity is one of the essential ethical considerations of this review. The reason is that an interviewer begins by understanding the worth and dignity of every human being. Openness and nonjudgmental must be maintained throughout the interview. In addition, the interview must also be unbiased, and he should treat every interviewee with fairness and impartiality irrespective of status, associates, ethnicity, belief, or physical appearance (Van Scotter & Roglio, 2020 pg. 473). The examiners should also consider upholding confidentiality and informed consent to promote moral values during the review process. Time wastage is one of the limitations of this review because the process consumes a lot of time to prepare and complete. Another limitation of this process is that it can be very costly. Again, this approach can promote biases because respondents` answers can be affected by their reaction to the interviewer’s status.
Future Studies
In conclusion, due to the changing contexts and developing technologies, there exists a significant possibility of future studies. The reason is that people are inventing new technologies driving more consideration regarding future criminal activities. For instance, as new technologies develop, criminals also develop unique measures to exploit their criminal activities. Perhaps, criminals are developing new ways to execute crimes which might drive a need for the criminal justice system to examine their reviews due to the developing behavioral aspects of criminals (Rajeevan
et al., 2022). Therefore, criminal justice experts and expert law enforcement authorities will run prospective analyses to detect and control the behaviors and characteristics of criminals. In addition, the need for limiting and controlling anticipated uncertainties will also drive future reviews aimed at increasing community wellness and resilience.
