A Joshua Victor
Steps taken to create an OLAP Cube from raw data in Power BI include:
1. Importing the raw data into Power BI. data can be in form of excel files, SQL databases, or cloud-based services.
2. Once the data is imported, it is transformed, by formatting in the way the user prefers. This can be done by filtering, sorting, grouping, and joining data.
3. After the data has been transformed, A data model can be created in Power BI by defining relationships between tables and creating calculated columns or measures. This step is essential for creating an OLAP cube, as it defines the structure and hierarchy of the cube.
4. Once the data model is defined, you can use the Analysis Services Connector in Power BI to create the OLAP cube by defining the cube’s dimensions, hierarchies, and measures, and specifying how the cube should aggregate and summarize data.
5. After creating the OLAP cube, you can test it by querying the data and analyzing the results. You may need to refine the cube’s structure or aggregation logic based on your analysis, to ensure that it provides meaningful insights into the data.
6. Once you are satisfied with the OLAP cube, you can publish it to a Power BI workspace or a server, and share it with other users. The OLAP cube can be accessed through Power BI reports, Excel, or other OLAP client tools, allowing users to perform multidimensional analysis on the data.

Identify and explain one function that effective group members perform. What negative outcomes would occur if a group member did not perform this function?

Developing options is one function an effective group/team can perform, group members come up with multiple ideas and solutions to a situation by not limiting themselves to just a couple of ideas to start with. Not saying all effective group members are immune to getting stuck with no ideas because that happens to everyone, it is how you handle this issue and come back with your group to overcome it. Taking breaks to freshen your mind, in order to take a different perspective on the project can help get the ideas flowing again. As a group, self-awareness is an essential ability to understand what your group is capable of when being creative and when it is necessary to take a break (Beebe et al., 2022). As for a negative outcome occurring, if a group member did not do this effectively would cause delays in the project and could force another member to work twice as hard to cover another member.

A critical function that influential group members perform is active listening. Active listening involves hearing what others are saying and showing interest and understanding through verbal and nonverbal cues. Influential group members who actively listen create a positive and respectful environment where everyone’s opinions and ideas are valued (Suresh & Guttag, 2019). This encourages open communication, leading to more creative and effective problem-solving. Several adverse outcomes could occur if a group member does not perform active listening. Firstly, other group members may feel ignored or undervalued, leading to a breakdown in communication and reduced cooperation. Secondly, misunderstandings may arise due to a lack of clarification or follow-up questions, resulting in poor decision-making or ineffective solutions (Suresh & Guttag, 2019). Finally, without active listening, the group may struggle to build trust and develop strong relationships, which is essential for effective teamwork. Overall, active listening is a critical function of influential group members to ensure successful collaboration and outcomes.

One of the most effective functions that effective group team members can perform is to develop a positive personal style. This function means that members in the group are very happy about themselves, and they found ways to a group member behavior by being positive, and the tasks got completed in a timely manner (Beebe et al., 2021). This function definitely keeps the group positive and everyone knows that they did their part in the assignment as good as they can, because sometime we think we can get the assignments done because they look hard when we first glance at it, and we want to give up but when we get started on the assignment our whole perspective changes and we think positive and say oh we got this (Beebe et al., 2021). If members of the group did not follow this function the whole group would say forget this work and make one person do everything by themselves and everyone would definitely have a bad attitude throughout the whole time working together.

Power BI is a powerful tool that can be used to create an OLAP cube from raw data in a way that makes it easy for humans to understand. To do this, you would first need to connect your raw data to Power BI and then use the built-in data modeling tools to create a data model that accurately represents your data. Once you have created your data model, you can then use Power BI to create an OLAP cube, which is a multidimensional view of your data that allows you to easily analyze and visualize it in different ways. With Power BI, you can create interactive reports and dashboards that provide insights into your data that are easy to understand and act upon.

If you want a wonderful experience with Power BI and OLAP then you need to combine it with Microsoft. When it is combined with Microsoft it helps to create an optimal user experience for leveraging very powerful KPIs and dashboards interaction. So, what it can do is if you have a monthly sales data company that needs five separate product information from over two years ago which is a wide range of information to retrieve. So, what happens is the OLAP Cube categorizes the multidimensional architecture of the large data, instead of slowing it down or losing time gathering all the important data. What happens is everything is gathered and already updated and ready to be used. Also, all the information is being sent to Power BI to link the information to both systems for sharing data if the need arises. Which allows the data to be interpreted, modified, or structured visually if the need arises (Chinsky, 2022).
